The Latin American Journal of Aquatic Mammals (LAJAM) publishes peer reviewed articles on the research, management and conservation biology of aquatic mammals in Latin America. Articles on theory or techniques broadly applicable to aquatic mammals will also be considered, even when the research has taken place outside Latin America.

Dear readers, we are pleased to announce the publication of the latest issue of Latin American Journal of Aquatic Mammals Vol. 19 No. 2. November 2024 as a Regular Issue.

It is full of information on species ranging from the South America subantarctic region to the Caribbean, heavily focused on cetaceans - both freshwater and marine - but also including pinnipeds.

This time the issue was Co-Managed by Dr. Daniel González-Socoloske and Dr. Eduardo Morteo.

Published since 2002, LAJAM is the scientific peer review journal of the Sociedad Latinoamericana de Especialistas en Mamíferos Acuáticos (SOLAMAC). In 2011 LAJAM ceased its print version and became an online-only publication.

LAJAM publishes research articles on the biology, management, and conservation of the aquatic mammals in Latin America. Articles on theory or techniques that are widely applicable to the study of aquatic mammals will also be considered even when the research has taken place outside of Latin America. LAJAM also publishes special volumes dedicated to specific species or topics.
