These workers: inspect mechanical ventilation systems; conduct carbon monoxide and indoor-air quality analysis; diagnose HVAC air distribution and combustion; test thermal imaging and pressure; conduct insulation, window and lighting analysis; figure out how to repair drafts; and determine cost-effective methods for reducing energy loss. One of the most important methods for making a home more comfortable, healthy and affordable is weatherization. This process involves weatherproofing or protecting a building from outside elements, such as sunshine and heat, rainfall, wind and frigid air.
